About Me

Jennifer and Barb Ferguson

As someone who was born into grief, I have firsthand experience of the wider impact that death can have on those left behind. They have to navigate a new world without their loved one.

I was 5 months old when my father was killed by a drunk driver, leaving my mum to raise 5 young children on her own with little support through this difficult process.

From the age of 8 years old I was aware of the spirit world and this gave me a unique understanding of death, dying and grief.

These early life experiences have contributed to my passion of helping people to die well, and for their family and friends to have a soft landing into grief.

With a calling to service the community I found a common thread that led me to train in the modality of Reiki, after many years of being a Reiki practitioner I elevated to Reiki Master.

For the last 25 years I have been using Reiki energy to aid my clients into a deep relaxation, for a full mind, body and spirit experience, in doing this work, I quickly realized Reiki could give comfort to my clients who were near the end of their life.

Over coffee with a dear friend years ago, she mentioned a fitting vocation for me, a Death Doula, I was drawn to her words.

I began my journey into Death doula-ship, through recommendations to Life options- by Denise Love, I had a very Knowledgeable and compassionate teacher Barb Ferguson (on the right in the picture, handing me my qualifications).

My mission is to remove the stigma of talking about death and dying, to help my clients be proactive in their end-of-life care.
